Why Idiots write and Morons read?
Blogging is akin to washing dirty linen in public. Though bloggers have less chance to interact but there is still bigger chance to be read worldwide or you may have unknown admirer or someone who may get infuriated to nab your throat if possible!
The Week, an Indian newsweekly has come with a report which says – “Why do people enjoy sharing every thought on social media sites such as Facebook or Twitter? In the journal, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Harvard neuroscientists suggest that the act of talking about oneself activates the same pleasure regions of the brain that is stimulated when we eat, get money or have sex.
Surveys of internet use indicate that 80 per cent of social media posts are “announcements about one’s own immediate experiences”.
Using MRI scans, the researchers assessed brain activity of volunteers as they answered questions about themselves and other people.
The brain region associated with reward, the nucleus accumbens and the ventral tegmental area, were more engaged when people talked about themselves than when they talked about someone else. There was also greater reward activity in the brains when they shared their thoughts with someone than when they kept it private.”
Blogging or Facebook mania is not a phenomenon which is older than a decade. Why does a person love to write or what prompts them to write? It may be a desire to be read by as many people he or she wishes. What they get in return is depends on person to person.
To me blogging or writing on Facebook wall post or writing poetry has same impact as defecation. It relieves you from some mental burden of which you want to get rid of. Our Ayurveda also says that the moment of pleasure is more in defecating than to relishing your lovely dishes. Although a patient of constipation knows better how it feels to become a recycle bin of a computer.
People like me who talk nonsense tends to become a blogger one day. It’s obvious if you have travelled your part of life in local train, passenger train or long train journey then you may become a write or pulp fiction writer someday. There are many great authors who owe their writing skills to delayed flights. I know one thing that nothing is personal in this world not even your thoughts, they become a part of some story, biography, drama or film. Even what we see in movies are attributed to the unknown people’s real anecdotes, their joy and sorrow whose name we don’t know.
An Iranian cartoon, translation says –
Crocodile: “Will somebody help me get rid of this mercenary writer?”
