Assam State gone berserk

One sitting MLA from Assam, aged 31 and gender FEMALE (in capital letters) was beaten as pulp by 16 goons and one girl who was returning from a Beer bar accompanied by 3 girlfriend and two boyfriend who fled when she was assaulted and molested by 20 goons. First news failed to create much ripple on social networking sites and electronic media. Second incident created too much outrage.
My post has nothing to do with the trivial issues like what and how much clothes a girl should wear or what should be appropriate time for her to roam market, enjoy partying, her office hour or whether a girl should drink or not. I just want to ask from my enlightened friends that doesn’t first incident was easily hushed up only because Rumi Nath, a Hindu married woman dared to marry a second time to a Musalman? Both incidents are from Assam, the State having Kamakhya Temple, where woman is worshipped as Goddess. These same people who assaulted women will dance to the tune of Dhak on coming Durga Puja!
Is it just ‘okay’ to beat a Hindu woman who marries a Musalman? The moral police of ‘Hindoostan’ are ready to shoot the offenders who assaulted the girl of second incident, few feminist women are willing to hang them on Chauraha and want to chop off their genitals. I just want to figure out the difference of outrage in these two cases, two woman assaulted by 16-20 men. State is same, nature of assault is same so why the outrage is different.

  1. We live in India. Assam is in Bharat. But conditions in Delhi are no better. Only courageous can read newspapers. See http://sandeepbhalla.com/2012/04/29/courageous-news-readers/

  2. There was too much literal bloodbath on facebook to punish the culprits of second incident and no one paid heed to an MLA’s beating. Two years back a dalit woman Sarpanch near capital city of Madhya Pradesh was stripped for daring to unfurl Tiranga flag on Republic Day. The degree of condemnation is different in various cases. Youngeters are more touched by attack on a lady if she is a hoocher. No doubt, Delhi’s topmost selling newspapers run a campaign that if a teenager of eighteen year age can cast a vote then why he/she is prohibited to enjoy a drink till 25.

    • There is one woman Soni Suri who is a teacher in Chhatisgarh whose State sponsored tortures and ordeals are not well received in media and on social networking sites. On the other hand a molestation of a minor girl who was returning from beer-bar is caused much anguish to one and all.
Is it permissible under law of land to enter a pub by someone who is under 25 years of age? Well, court says don’t come to the temple of justice with dirty hands. Same people who are anguished will left no stone unturned to abuse legal system.
