The great Indian rape trick (not rope trick)

On 1st January, 1996 I was reading a headline in English newspaper in the Bharti Bhwan Library, which I mentioned in my last blog post. That headline was ‘Rape of Mother India’ – a 70 year old woman was raped by her grandson. Nothing has changed now; women of any age are trampled in city buses, local trains, and markets, brides are burned like coal by her in-laws for dowry demands, attacked by ex-lovers by acid which is used in Indian loos to clean toilet seat. A nation is shocked by brutal gang-rape in Delhi and complete lack of law and order.

Allahabad news

Just yesterday, I was reading a news item from my hometown Allahabad that an infant girl was thrown on road by her affluent parents in chilling cold weather to be adopted by someone and she died after few hours in city hospital. And yes, there are regular news of dogs eating new born baby girl thrown in garbage bin and girl’s foetuses dumped in ponds because of selective abortions.

incest rape in Kerala

Rapes and sexual assault on women are a mind-set of feudal patriarchal system, Haryana’s village Khap-panchayat says young boys are committing rape because of eating Chinese fast-foods, particularly chow mien!

An awestruck nation is demanding capital punishment for rapists, mutilation of genitals and that is also suggested in form of surgical or chemical castration by a prominent lady Judge of Delhi’s district court. Setting new stricter laws will help the culprits winning free meals in prison in a sex-starved nation. Mere hollow words will not help the victims. You can’t undo the damage in such gruesome cases. Even God can’t do anything in such case, India was heaven for criminals, India is still that heaven and there is no indication that India will not remain that heaven in near future.
