Little Heroes!

Kids on Delhi's road

Kids on Delhi’s road

Few friends say that my posts are depressive, senseless, venomous and painful to read. But I can’t portray beauty and happiness when my heart is sad and there is nothing to rejoice. You can see this pic of three kids doing hard labour, in middle of road, driving bicycle cart carrying scraps. They are bread winner to their families when Constitution of India has envisaged free and compulsory education up to the age of 14 years.

This is the pic of India where just 2200 Indians have accumulated 90 % wealth in a country of 1.2 billion and four rich billionaires have place in Forbes list of Billionaires. This unequal distribution of wealth is obscene and unwarranted, rich are getting richer by looting the poor.

Doesn’t a picture tell a story of thousand words?

  1. You are absolutely right to highlight this extreme level of social injustice. The problem is that many people who are not in such need and have nice comfortable lives would rather turn a blind eye to the poor and disadvantaged. After all, it is almost always on the backs of the poor that the wealthy prosper.

I have been many, many times to India and have been shocked by the attitude of some very wealthy Indians I have met in expensive hotels. According to one businessman, the poor are happier to live in slums because they don’t aspire to better themselves and prefer to beg instead.

Easy to say if one has been born into a privileged family and cast.

I will be in India again soon working in a school set up to provide free education for very low caste slum children. Please look out for the pictures.

    Great blog by the way!

    • Thank you so much for your shower of praises. Yes, rich Indians think that they are lucky to be born as rich or to amass wealth and must have had good ‘Karmas’ in previous birth and they ridiculously think that poor men are poor because of their sins or they are content with their poverty.
I will be more than happy to help you for your social work in India for educating poor kids. Please be in touch. Have a nice day. 🙂
